Fourth meeting of FRU` Council

On May 24 in the field of SPIEF’2018 (St. Petersburg International Economic Forum) the fourth meeting of FRU` Council was held, attended by the Rector of RANEPA, the President of FRU Vladimir Mau; the Rector of RFTA of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation Sergey Sinelnikov-Murylev; the Rector of ITMO University Vladimir Vasiliev; the First Vice Rector of MEPhI Oleg Nagornov; the President of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis Emanuel Tric; the Vice-President of the University of Nice Sofia Antipolis Stephane Ngo-Mai; the Deputy General Director for programs of NEOMA Business School Selene Daven; the Deputy Dean of EDHEC Business School Alessia Di Domenico; the Deputy Dean of SKEMA Business School Patrice Udaye.


The most important result of the event was the unanimous approbation of the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) as the new member of FRU. ITMO is the leading university of Russia in the field of information and photon technologies, it has been one of the few national and research universities of the country since 2009. Since 2013 the University has been a participant of the Program of Competitiveness Improvement of the Russian universities among the leading world scientific and educational centres (known as “5 in 100”), focused on improvement of positions of Russian higher education institutions in the world educational rankings. Today ITMO is included in TOP-100 of a number of professional ratings of Times Higher Education World University Rankings, rankings of QS EECA and BRICS, etc.


Also, at the Meeting a number of documents on cooperation and consciousness programs were signed:
  • Framework agreement on cooperation between RANEPA and UNS;
  • Agreement on cooperation between RANEPA and EDHEC Business School:  general agreement on academic (student and teacher) exchange;
  • Protocol on cooperation in the implementation of Double Degree Program in the sphere of Economics and Management between UNS and North-West Institute of Management - a branch office of RANEPA (St. Petersburg, Russia);
  • Agreement between RANEPA (IPACS) et UNS : Double Degree Program "Fiscal Control and Public Audit";
  • Agreement between RANEPA (IPACS) et UNS : Double Degree Program "Law, Economics and Management";
  • Memorandum between RANEPA (IPACS) et UNS : Double Degree Program "Tax Law and Taxation";
  • Memorandum between RANEPA (IPACS) et UNS : Double Degree Program "Banking and Finance Law";
  • Memorandum between RANEPA (IPACS) et UNS : Double Degree Program "Public Law and Process";
  • Supplementary agreement between RANEPA (DFB) and Institut d’Administration des Entreprises UNS : Double Degree Program "Master of Business Administration" (MBA).
Experts noted the practical focus of the new programs. Mission of FRU is staffing of the multinational companies that means close interaction with international business to comply with its requirements through the academic cooperation. "In our work we try to promptly response the challenge of the modern era. Requirements of the digital era (education globalization, individualization of educational paths, adaptability, education continuity, etc.) are observed in our joint Russian-French project – the French-Russian University, FRU, which is built on the network basis and assumes wide use of this "digital nature"", - the rector of RANEPA, the President of FRU Vladimir Mau noted.
